A Hernando County woman and her boyfriend have been charged after deputies say they conspired to rob her father at gunpoint to buy drugs.
Deputies say Doeminique Sylvester, 28, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Christopher Miser, devised a plan on Saturday with Jason Tortora, 37, to rob Sylvester's father as he left his house Sunday morning.
Miser and Tortora drove to the home Sylvester's father, Rene Jiminez, on Sunday morning and waited for him to leave his Brooksville home for church.
Deputies say Miser, wearing dark clothing and a bandana over his face, and carrying a black semi-automatic style metal BB gun that closely resembled a 45-caliber handgun, approached Jiminez from behind and struck him in the head with the gun.
Miser continued to strike Jiminez, who fought back and recognized him after removing Miser's bandana, deputies say.
Deputies say a neighbor witnessed the incident, while another saw a suspicious vehicle and observed Miser and Tortora driving away.
Deputies located the three at a residence in the Brookridge community in Brooksville, along with the gun and hoodie in a closet.
All three were charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and Miser and Tortora were charged with armed robbery. Miser is being held on $110,000 bond, Tortora on $100,000 bond and Sylvester on $50,000 bond.
