Three months ago, deputies arrested a woman driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible. They recognized her as a woman with two previous DUI arrests and a suspended license.
On Tuesday afternoon, deputies saw her again driving the same vehicle in the area of Mariner Boulevard and Chalmer Street, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. She was arrested again and authorities said they plan to keep her in jail for much longer this time.
Amy Sargent, 47, of 6271 Danbury St. in Spring Hill, was charged with driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest without violence.
Deputies said Sargent refused orders to get out of the car. She reached toward the glove box when she was told to get out, so deputies directed her to the ground, according to an arrest affidavit.
When deputies tried to handcuff her, she resisted further, they said.
Since October 2011, Sargent has been arrested numerous times – including twice on DUI charges.
She awaits trial for both of those cases, as well as her arrest in May on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
Sargent had her bond revoked following her Tuesday arrest, deputies said.
