LAKE LINDSEY -

A 72-year-old woman on a motorcycle was killed after she was ejected following a collision with a Chrysler, troopers said.

Lu Haddeman, of Largo, was riding on the back of a BMW motorcycle driven by George A. Tacott, 75, of Clearwater, shortly after 5:15 p.m. Sunday along U.S. 41, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 2006 Chrysler was at the stop sign facing west along Lake Lindsey Road and a 2003 Chevy Tahoe was at the opposite stop sign facing east, troopers said.

The Chrysler pulled forward and into the path of Tacott's motorcycle, according to an accident report.

Both Tacott and Haddeman were ejected and the Chrysler – driven by 88-year-old Richard J. Miller – continued forward and collided with the front of the Tahoe, troopers said.

Both Tacott and Haddeman were airlifted to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where Haddeman succumbed to her injuries. Tacott was listed in serious condition.

Troopers are still investigating.
