BROOKSVILLE -

A Wisconsin woman was charged Monday with battery following accusations she struck a customer with a tote bag while the two were at the post office.

Linda Burke, 57, of St. Lacrosse, Wisc., was at the post office at 19101 Cortez Blvd. when her argument with a fellow customer escalated to a physical confrontation, according to the Brooksville Police Department.

Burke pushed, kicked and struck the accuser with her tote bag, police said.

The suspect left the building, headed west toward the Greyhound bus station and was picked up by responding police officers, according to a media release.

She was transported to the Hernando County Jail. Her bond was set at $500.
