BROOKSVILLE A 20-year-old Land O' Lakes man was arrested Sunday after he punched and kicked two deputies who were trying to remove him from atop a 400-foot-tall kiln.

Jonathan Wilkinson was charged with trespassing, resisting an officer with violence and assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.

According to the arrest report, an employee at Florida Crushed Stone Co. noticed an unauthorized man ascending a staircase to one of the company's kilns.

At one point the employee said Wilkinson exited the staircase and began walking on the I-beams.

When deputies arrived Wilkinson continued up the staircase that led to a platform atop the kiln, the report said.

The deputies followed and confronted Wilkinson on the platform.

Wilkinson proceeded to attack one of the deputies. The other deputy fired his stun gun at Wilkerson. However, it failed to subdue him, the report said.

Eventually both deputies were able to handcuff and shackle Wilkerson and remove him from atop the kiln.

Wilkinson was transported to Brooksville Regional Hospital where he was cleared medically and then transported to the Hernando County Jail without further incident.

His bond was set at $20,500.
