BROOKSVILLE -

Deputies say a man caught his neighbor breaking into his home after rounding the corner of his house in time to see his neighbor's legs dangling out of the kitchen window.

On Saturday, deputies responded to 10288 Cedarvue St. after a man called law enforcement to report that his neighbor had broken into his property, according to a Hernando County Sheriff's Office report.

The victim said he came home and noticed his kitchen window was unlocked. After going to his brother's home across the street, both men went behind his home and saw George Tyler Rand Jr., 28, open a window and climb in up to his torso.

Deputies then made contact with Rand, who said he was simply trying to see if the victim was home.

Rand was charged with attempted burglary and taken to Hernando County Jail where his bond was set at $3,000.
