BROOKSVILLE -

A 26-year-old woman was arrested Friday night at Nature Coast Technical High School and booked on drug charges.

Ashley Maner, of 3401 Memory Lane in Spring Hill, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded during a football game at the school located at 4057 California St. While there, they spoke with several off-duty detail deputies, who assisted them in locating the suspect, according to an arrest affidavit.

Deputies said they responded after Maner's mother contacted law enforcement worried about her daughter.

Based on information that Maner was carrying a weapon, deputies asked for consent to search her handbag and she complied, according to the sheriff's office.

The drugs were located in the suspect's bag, but no weapon, deputies said.
