SPRING HILL Deputies arrested a man on domestic battery and criminal mischief charges following allegations he pushed and grabbed his girlfriend and then smashed her windshield.

The suspect, Justin Ratelle, said he became enraged at his girlfriend after discovering she had obtained cash with his ATM card and used the money to buy drugs, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

Ratelle's girlfriend, Brittany Ann Page, was charged with possession of cocaine and violation of probation.

Deputies responded Monday afternoon at 12100 Lamont Drive and interviewed Ratelle, who admitted to punching the windshield of Page's vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit.

Page, 21, told deputies her boyfriend had been drinking all day and he grabbed and pushed her and wouldn't let her out of her vehicle, authorities said.

Page gave deputies consent to search her vehicle, at which time they discovered a small plastic bag containing cocaine, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said Page was serving probation for a prior DUI conviction.
