BROOKSVILLE -

Deputies arrested a Weeki Wachee man Tuesday night following accusations he battered another male and broke his nose.

Justin Glenn Fugate, 20, of 11158 Jenny Wren Road, was arrested shortly after 8:20 p.m. at 7007 Grove Road.

He was transported to the Hernando County Jail and held without bond.

Fugate attacked the male, punched him several times in the face and fractured his nose, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The age of the injured male was not disclosed.

Deputies said the accuser also suffered a large cut on his forehead as a result of the fight.

Fugate told the sheriff's office he attacked the male because he was trying to protect someone else, according to an arrest affidavit.

Tuesday marked the third time Fugate was arrested on battery charges.

His criminal record includes three battery convictions.
