GAINESVILLE -

Ja'Juan Story, a 2011 Nature Coast graduate, is transferring from the University of Florida, the school announced in a statement released Friday morning.

"Ja'Juan came to me Thursday afternoon and indicated that he wanted to transfer," said UF head coach Will Muschamp. "He just felt like this wasn't a good fit for him and he needed a fresh start. Ja'Juan is a good student and was a good teammate and we wish him the best of luck."

Story, a 6-foot-3, 206-pound wide receiver from Brooksville, enrolled at UF in the summer of 2011 and redshirted last year after spending the season on the Scout team.

"I met with Coach Muschamp Thursday afternoon and told him I wanted to transfer," Story said. "I had a great experience here and met a bunch of great people. It is a great football program with great players and coaches. It just wasn't the right fit for me."

After verbally committing to the Gators as a junior, Story nearly changed his mind following the resignation of UF head coach Urban Meyer.

At the last minute on National Signing Day, Story opted to stick with the Gators, spurning an offer from Ohio State.
