BROOKSVILLE - The Hernando County Sheriff's Office arrested a 14-year-old boy Tuesday on charges of grand theft.
The youth's mother reported that her son, whose name is being withheld, took a gold class ring, necklace and bracelet from her bedroom.
When questioned by Deputy Steven George, the boy said he entered his mother's bedroom through an outside window on May 15. He said he then took the items to a pawn shop, and received $450. The teen said he used some of that money to purchase a cell phone.
