A chef with ties to a world-famous chef has set up shop in Citrus County, but good luck getting a table.
Shaneena Tremblay’s philosophy is pretty simple.
Shaneena Tremblay helped open 16 restaurants for celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. She he is now the head chef at Superior Residences Assisted Living Facility in Lecanto .
“My main ingredient in everything I do, food-wise, is love.” she said.
Tremblay learned from one of the best. After high school, she went to work for celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. She started off as a hostess, and 16 years later, she was one of Puck’s top chefs.
“He would just show up in the restaurant.” she said. “He always called me Shanana, never called me Shaneena, for whatever reason.”
This talented chef opened 16 restaurants for Puck, but now she is doing something different.
She is now the head chef at Superior Residences Assisted Living Facility in Lecanto. She wanted to spend more time with her family, so she gave up her job with Puck.
Residents at the facility love having her cook their food.
“If it wasn’t any good, I could go outside and buy some food for myself,” said resident Joe Rafferty. “This is excellent.”
“Of course I like it,” said resident Janice Lee. “In fact, I think I’ve gained some pounds since I’ve been here.”
Tremblay does miss the high profile job she had before, but this is her new home now.
“If I can make them happy for five minutes while they are eating, it’s the best feeling for me,” she said. “I know them. I see them everyday. I spend time with them everyday so it’s like cooking for my own family.”
Tremblay grew up in Italy surrounded by cooks in her family. She moved to Orlando when she was 13, and a few years later, she went to work for Puck.
